Details & example: Pricing.

Is there a student discount?

Yes, 20% for students, schools, student associations & youth organizations (with proof). See discount info.

Can I rent if I am under 18?

Generally from age 18. Minors can rent if a legal guardian (adult) signs the contract and assumes liability.

What are pickup and return times?

By arrangement, flexible. Please include preferred times in your request – we’ll confirm the slots.

Do you handle transport, setup & takedown? How are costs calculated?

Yes, on request. Setup/takedown: 30 CHF/h, pre/post-preparation per stand 15 CHF. Travel/transport based on distance & time. Details: Services.

Is there a deposit?

For rentals of approx. 200 CHF or more, a deposit may be required (typically 100–300 CHF). Refunded after proper return. Note: The deposit may be used towards the deductible (CHF 200 per incident if coverage is purchased). See T&C §7.

Which payment methods are available?

The deposit is paid by credit card. You can pay the full amount at pickup (cash or TWINT). The remaining balance will be invoiced after the event.

Can I set up the lights myself? Do I need DMX knowledge?

Yes. All lights are DMX-capable but also work in plug & play (sound-to-light). For beginners, plug-and-play is sufficient; DMX is optional.

What is DMX?

DMX is a standard to control lighting (colors, brightness, movement, effects). Advantage: control multiple fixtures synchronously & precisely. For small parties, plug-and-play is often enough.

How does the optional insurance work?
  • Optional add-on at checkout; applies to the items listed on the order for the booked rental period.
  • Covers all damages to rental items during the rental period (regardless of cause/type) with a CHF 200 deductible per incident.
  • Not covered: grossly negligent damages and theft or loss → the full replacement value is charged.
  • If coverage is not purchased, the Tenant is fully liable for all damages.
  • See details in T&C §10 and §7.
Can I test the equipment? Is on-site support available?

A quick test at pickup is possible. For events, we can provide setup/instruction or on-site support (see Services). In emergencies, please contact us immediately.

What are the cancellation terms?

Up to 10 days before start: 100% of the total costs will be waived (incl. deposit).
9–7 days before: 80% of the total costs will be waived.
6–3 days before: 50% of the total costs will be waived.
< 72 h before: The full rental price is due.

Work already started (e.g. programming, preparation, consulting, already incurred travel) is always billed at the standard hourly rate of CHF 30/h (no cap) and is non-refundable.

How much do personalized light shows cost?

Up to 128 scenes of 16 bars. Per scene 15–20 CHF (depending on number of fixtures), plus a 100 CHF flat fee (control/connection package). Effort ~20–40 min/scene. Colors/mood as specified by you. DMX configuration included.

What exactly is the 100 CHF flat fee for?

Applies only if you book a programmed show (e.g. personalized scenes or professional/Serato show). Covers control hardware & cabling (laptop, audio interface, DMX adapter, DMX/audio cables). For rental only without programming (plug-and-play / sound-to-light) no flat fee applies.

Do you offer professional (beat-synced) light shows?

Yes, on request (Serato DJ Pro). Requirements: compatible DJ setup, playlist on USB. Price: approx. 150–400 CHF per light-hour, plus 100 CHF flat fee.
